Disney’s Animal Kingdom Construction Update – Part 3

z-dak-3

This week we checked in our construction at the new Avatar – Worlds of Pandora land, and the Rivers of Light water spectacular. Today our tour through Disney’s Animal Kingdom continues with a look at some of the other changes coming to Disney’s most beautiful theme park.

Disney has brought in a cherry picker to work on the Tree of Life. There were a few problems with ‘branches’ falling onto pathways below, hopefully they have a fix for that and can get rid of the ugly nets that cover guest accessible areas. They’re also slightly lightening the color of the ‘trunk’ of the tree. This will help the digital projects that are planned as part of a new night show stand out better.

There’s a new store on Discovery Island. Riverside Depot is an addition to the Disney Outfitters. Meanwhile the Disney Outfitters location is closed down for its own transformation.

Of course, when you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it’s important to slow down and take in the beauty of the park. You never know what you’ll find, like this beautiful orchid perched high in a tree in the Oasis.

When was your last trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom? What do you remember most fondly from your visit?

  1. Is it pretty common for Disney to open and close eateries based on crowd attendance? Was planning on checking out the Harambe Market and don’t want it to be closed when we’re there.
