Ben Kingsley returns as The Mandarin in the Marvel One-Shot “All Hail The King,” which will appear on the Thor: The Dark World DVD/Blu-ray.
When the short film opens, we find that Trevor Slattery (the actor playing The Mandarin) is imprisoned at Seagate where he meets with a documentary filmmaker (played by Scoot McNairy) to recall his colorful past. Far from being upset at being in prison, Slattery is happy with the notoriety and celebrity he now has from his part in the what happened in Iron Man 3.
Marvel says there are some cameo appearances in “All Hail the King” from other Marvel characters, and it’s quite possible the one-shot will be tied into other places and films in the upcoming Marvel universe.
“All Hail the King” was written and directed by Drew Pearce, who wrote the Iron Man 3 script. Pearce came up with the idea after a meeting with Marvel producers Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Jeremy Latcham, Stephen Broussard, Brad Winderbaum and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” writer/director Joss Whedon.
“Thor: The Dark World” will be released on 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray and DVD, on February 25. Pre-order it today and support The Disney Blog.
