Polar Plunge for Special Olympics at Aquatica January 21st

SeaWorld Orlando’s Aquatica is usually warm and tropical, but for one day only they’re chilling down their wave pool so the brave of heart can experience the “thrill of the chill” by plunging into cold water, while supporting a great cause! Supporters of Special Olympics… Read More »Polar Plunge for Special Olympics at Aquatica January 21st

Review: War Horse is Traditional, Sentimental

“I, Albert Narracott, do solemnly swear that we shall be together again.” War Horse easily ranks as one of my most anticipated films this year. Since reading the book by Michael Morpurgo back in February, I looked forward to seeing Steven Spielberg’s big screen treatment… Read More »Review: War Horse is Traditional, Sentimental

Disney World bringing back Tower of Terror Race in 2012

Disney’s popular runDisney division has some big news… a return of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror event. It features a new 10-mile race that will echo the original Tower of Terror 13K race held in 2009. The new race debuts Sept. 29, 2012 and is the sixth signature runDisney event and the second nighttime race at Walt Disney World. In order to make room for this event, the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will shift to early November.

Reviving the scarily popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror theme, runDisney unveiled its newest race today, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend, which debuts next year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando. As with all runDisney events, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror race weekend will involve a variety of events, including a 5K and Kids’ races, plus a Health and Fitness Expo, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney.

Watching this footage from the 2009 Tower of Terror 13K race, I hope they’re able to capture what everyone says was a great atmosphere throughout the park.

Magic Kingdom Update – New Fantasyland and more! (Part 2)

I was going to write a long introductory paragraph, link to part 1, and then maybe do a little song and dance number. But forget that. Let’s get right to part two of the Magic Kingdom Update from December 19, 2011.

On the left and top you can see the rock work is pretty much done. Wow, that’s certainly a lot of grey. I guess we’ll see how it looks up close when the walls come down.

A little closer look at the ongoing rock work. Beast’s castle sure looks good.

Lots of work on Gaston’s Village, but right on the other side of that wall is also a big pit for the Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. Watch out for that first step, it’s a doozy.
