Ben Barnes is Prince Caspian

As recently as February 2007 Ben Barnes was your typical struggling actor trying to make his way in London’s theatre district. Then Walt Disney Pictures cast him in the title role of the second film in their Narnia series and Barnes will forever be known… Read More »Ben Barnes is Prince Caspian

Disneyland welcomes new VP of Communications Lisa Haines

Welcome Lisa Haines to the crown jewel of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the original Magic Kingdom — Disneyland. Lisa will be taking on the role of Vice President of Communications for The Disneyland Resort. That means media relations, cast member and guest communications come under her watch.

Haines is a relative newcomer to the Walt Disney Company joining the cast in 2004. So, if she hasn’t already, I hope she’s secured herself copies of these two important books, unfortunately both are out of print. First is “The Nickel Tour” by Dave Mumford and Bruce Gordon because you can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been. Second is “A Window On Main Street” by Van Arsdale France because that book, more clearly than anything else in print explains why Disneyland is the success that it is today. When Haines is done with those, I hope she curls up with back issues of The E-Ticket and similar publications.

There are a lot of exciting things happening in the world of new media, social media, and online media. I hope she embraces each of those new tools and the relationships that come with it.

I was afraid this would give us opportunities for politically correct lecturing. And yet they didn’t. They told us a great story that kept me guessing the entire way.

Dancing with the Stars – Week Eight Results and Episode 100

I haven’t had a chance to watch the judge’s top 10 dances yet, but I did enjoy the jam packed, takes an hour to plug it, 100th episode.

I’m not going to give a blow by blow of the evening. I will say, however, that I watched more than I normally would. It was fun to see so many former contestants come back whether they were interviewed or actually danced. Anton and Julianne’s dance was incredible. And Mel and Maks’ dance was fun but extremely short. At least I’m guessing that it was short by how much of the band they showed.

Architectural Wonderland for The Disney Store Headquarters

Architect Clive Wilkinson created this architectural wonderland for The Disney Store headquarters back in 2007. That’s when it was operated by The Children’s Place. I haven’t heard if The Disney Store will move back to its Glendale headquarters now that it is under Disney’s control… Read More »Architectural Wonderland for The Disney Store Headquarters
