Disney Culinary Moms and the Wine and Cheese Plate

When I get the chance to visit one of Walt Disney World’s fancier restaurants I almost always select the Wine and Cheese tasting plate. It’s not just the rare artisanal cheeses, but it’s the pairs the chef makes with the sides and wine. This video… Read More »Disney Culinary Moms and the Wine and Cheese Plate

Cars 2 Segment Coming to Lights, Motors, Action

I was recently sent a little snippet from a podcast created by Ken Tangen that reveals some interesting details about an upgrade to the car and motorcycle stunt show that performs at both Paris Disneyland’s Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Yep, that’s Lights, Motors, Action.

You may have heard about a little movie from Pixar coming out this summer. It’s Cars 2, of course. And where better to promote a movie featuring a little red race car than a stunt show that also features a little red car.

I had heard that the Herbie segment would be replaced by Lightning McQueen, but I didn’t realize how extensive the new segment would be. According to the interview with Rob Pottorf, who composed the music for the segment, there will be an 4-5 minute segment with Tow Mater animated on the screen and a stunt car version of Lightening McQueen (and a bad guy) driving around and but not really doing stunts.

If you want to get a sneak peak, it has already debuted in Paris. You can see a video from that park below the jump:

American Idol Scotty McCreery sings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

American Idol Scotty McCreery visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Monday May 30th, 2011 and sang his hit single “I love you this big” for adoring fans. Later, McCreery dropped in for a very special visit with the contestants of The American Idol Experience, where he provided some advice on how to give a winning audition and later helped announce the name of the winning contestant.

Since the American Idol Experience opened in 2008, it’s been a tradition that the recently crowned American Idol champion stops in to film a few commercials, add their likeness to the attraction, and pose for photos. Unfortunately it’s not a very good event for the average guest. If you’re not one of a select 100 or so fans, you don’t get the good view of the stage. As you can see from the first video, only about 100 fans were allowed near the stage. The rest had to watch from a very bad spot behind the press stand.
