Mickey Mouse Does Yoga With Two Small Guests

I’ve seen a lot of great interactions between Mickey Mouse and the guests who come to get their picture taken with him. This is the first time I’ve ever seen Mickey sit down on the floor and do Yoga poses with two children. It’s a very cute magical moment

I wonder if that moment would have been possible with the articulated talking Mickey Mouse they’ve been experimenting with.

Not to be outdone, Goofy has his own Magic Moment with a very adorable baby whose prone to laughter at Goofy’s antics.

Merida Meet & Greet Soft Opens at Magic Kingdom

While word of Disney’s first Scottish princess greeting guests inside a Disney themepark makes its way around the world to Scotland’s papers (she sounds Irish, they say), the Magic Kingdom has completed the transformation of the space originally created for Belle’s Story Time and subsequently used by Rapunzel and Flynn is now playing host to Merida.

Update: The Disney Parks Blog shared this photo on their Facebook page:

I didn’t have time to stand in line and get up close with Princess Merida myself, but you can get a general idea of the set up from the following pictures. Note the tartan and kilt worn by the cast member, is that a first outside of performing groups? There’s also a lot of fun new merchandise available (although I’m not too sure about the Merida sippy cup where you drink from a straw in the back of her head.. brains, I need brains… it’s Zombie Merida).

Can’t make it to the parks? Some of the above merchandise is available at the DisneyStore.com too.

Below the cut is a video from Ricky of Inside the Magic:

Move over Rapunzel, there’s a new Princess in Town. Merida moving into Magic Kingdom

Even though the lines never cease for Rapunzel’s dance and greet experience in the Fairytale Garden (formerly Storytime with Belle), the long haired princess is being relocated to Adventureland (bumping The Little Mermaid) as Disney prepares to add a red-hair Scottish lass, Princess Merida, to… Read More »Move over Rapunzel, there’s a new Princess in Town. D23 Expo Recap: Day 1

  • by

Friday, August 19 was opening day of the D23 Expo (I’m working under the assumption that you are familiar with D23) and it kicked off with a bang. Or a mouse, as the case may be. It always starts with a mouse.

D23 crowdsWhile the expo was open to the general ticket-buying public, it did offer a number of perks specifically to official D23 members, such as discounted passes, special “members only” events and early admission. It pays to belong, people!

Friday’s itinerary started at 9:00 a.m. with two of the aforementioned members only events, namely the Disney Store Opening Ceremony and the Radio Disney Road Crew Dance Party.

Other events that morning included an art contest with Disney.com, vintage footage showcasing the history of the Disneyland Hotel (congrats, DH, on the new ranking!), meet and greets with artists Jim Salvati and Robert Olszewski of the Disney Store and Disney Dream, respectively, and characters from Disney Channel’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

Then it was time for the 2011 Disney Legends Ceremony, which was, as you might imagine, magical. However, not everyone was able to attend the ceremony, so they had to settle for other really cool things like The Wonderful Words of Disney… Behind the Page: Kingdom Keepers presentation with Ridley Pearson. I would have loved to have attended this event to discuss some of my issues with the continuity, or lack thereof, within the series, but alas, Mr. Pearson was spared my fanboy criticism, and is probably the better for it.Read More »D23 Expo Recap: Day 1
