McDonald’s is currently featurong Happy Meal toys from Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Brave New World,” even though the movie is now scheduled for February 14 2025.

This is because the movie was scheduled to be released July 26, 2024, but a date change in November 2023 bumped the release date to 2025.

Releasing the toys so early also runs the risks of spoilers, and one is revealed by the inclusion of a Red Hulk toy. Red Hulk is the gamma rage monster version of General Thaddeus Ross, played in “Brave New World” by Harrison Ford. Does this mean Ford will be hulking out in the movie? It appears he will.

But it’s hard to avoid spoilers like this happening because toy deals are often struck 12 to 18 months in advance to give the toymakers enough time for design, construction, and distribution.

The Toys

Each Happy Meal box includes one of eight toys based on characters from the movie, and will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide, while supplies last.

The characters available to collect are:

  • Sam Wilson as Captain America
  • Sam Wilson as Captain America in flight
  • Diamondback (one of the movie’s villains)
  • Joaquin Torres as Falcon
  • Red Hulk
  • Captain America’s Redwing aircraft
  • Captain America’s Shield.
  • Ruth Bat-Seraph (in the comics she is a mutant operative for the United States government)

Free Downloadables

The McDonald’s Happy Meal website at HappyMeal.com also has some free downloadable activity sheets for “Captain America: Brave New World,” including coloring sheets, along with a free game to play on a phone or tablet.

The Movie

“Captain America: Brave New World” picks up after Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) became Captain America following the events of the Disney+ series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”

In the new movie, Wilson has a truce of sorts with Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a role originated by the late William Hurt starting in 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk” and continuing all the way through to 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” where the character served as Secretary of State.

Only now, Ross is played by soon-to-be Disney Legend Harrison ford, and the character is now the newly elected President of the United States.

Ross tasks Wilson with a mission, and a leak is found in Ross’ inner circle that jeopardizes everything. Wilson is assisted by Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez), who is not only a tech-savvy ex-Military “friend from work,” but another iteration of Falcon from the comics.

The movie will also see the return of Liv Tyler as Ross’ daughter Betty, while Tim Blake Nelson reprises Samuel Sterns, a.k.a. the Leader, who was last seen being taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody after Banner’s blood caused him to mutate. Both were last seen in “The Incredible Hulk.”

Captain America: Brave New World” is scheduled to hit theaters February 14 2025.
