Disney Imagineers create innovative new experiences for guests, and a new web series called “We Call It Imagineering” will give viewers and inside look at Walt Disney Imagineering.

The Details

Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative engine that designs and builds all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions, and cruise ships worldwide, and oversees the creative aspects of Disney games, merchandise product development, and publishing businesses.

Originally known as Walt Disney, Inc. (WDI), the department was formed by Walt Disney on December 16, 1952 with an engineering division tasked with designing Disneyland.

WDI was renamed WED Enterprises in 1953 based on Disney’s initials – Walter Elias Disney – and then renamed to Walt Disney Imagineering as of January 1986.

This new web series, called “We Call It Imagineering,” will take a behind-the-scenes look at Walt Disney Imagineering, bringing viewers into the creative and design journey as they “turbocharge our Disney Experiences” for the next decade and beyond.

How to Watch

“We Call It Imagineering” will air on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel starting April 4, 2024.

No word how many episodes will stream or the frequency, but most likely all will be revealed when the first episode drops online.

It’s strange Disney has decided to stream via YouTube instead of Disney+, but maybe they wanted to make it available to everyone without needing a subscription.

Here is a teaser trailer for the webseries:
