FX’s hit award-winning show, “The Bear,” seems to have gotten a renewal for a season 4, though no official announcement has been made.

The Details

“The Bear” did receive an official renewal for its third season last November. and the show is currently filming it in Chicago,

“’The Bear’, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, at the time of the renewal.

Multiple sources, however, have confirmed to entertainment industry site Deadline that the Emmy-winning FX dramedy has been unofficially been picked up for a fourth season.

Not only that, but the two seasons will film back to back while cast and crew are already in Chicago.

FX hasn’t officially commented on if there has been a season four renewal for the show, but it does make sense for several reasons.

First, due to the writer and actor strikes, filming commenced on season three later than planned, so it makes sense to film another season while they have the actors.

Filming season four immediately after season three finishes will help them get back on schedule for the show.

Two, “The Bear” has sweeped major award shows recently, like the Emmys and the SAG Awards, so the show is still very popular with critics and fans alike.

Three, the stars of the show, especially Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, are in demand, and filming seasons three and four during the same time frame will make it easier with everyone’s busy schedules.

Moss-Bachrach is already contracted to play Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing in the upcoming Marvel reboot of the “Fantastic Four.”
