Walt Disney World has announced that Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closing for its annual refurbishment on January 8, 2024.
The Details
The water ride will be undergoing regular maintenance that will see the attraction closed through mid-March, according to Disney.
No changes are expected to be made to the ride.
However, the refurbishment may not take as long as projected. Last year, the attraction reopened from its annual refurbishment in late February, slightly earlier than expected.

The Attraction
Kali River Rapids is a fun river rapids water ride that is located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The attraction opened on March 18, 1999, almost one year after the opening of the park, and features a circular raft-type vehicle that tours along the Chakranadi River.
Riders will get very wet as they plumment down the one 30-foot slide drop, and pass by a bridge with water jets controlled by other guests.
