Disney’s Animal Kingdom Shares Update on Rare Cotton-Top Tamarin Baby Monkeys
.

Last summer, Disney announced the birth of rare Cotton-Top Tamarin twins to Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and we’ve received an update on the babies.

The Details

The twin Tamarins, the first to be born at Disney World since 2001, now have names: Catalina and Rosa.

According to the Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team, both names were inspired by Proyecto Titi, a conservation group in Colombia.

Biologists and field assistants there perform research devoted to protecting these critically endangered primates.

Catalina gets her name from Santa Catalina, where Proyecto Titi is based, and Rosa is named after Rosamira Guillen, executive director and co-founder of the organization.

Visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom to meet the cotton-top tamarin family group and learn more about how Disney and Disney Conservation work to protect this endangered species.

Disney has also released a short video showing off the Tamarin twins and introducing Rosamira Guillen.
