On the heels of the season 3 finale of “Only Murders In The Building,” Hulu has announced it is renewing the series for a fourth season.

The Details

Hulu made the renewal announcement for the acclaimed comedy less than 12 hours after the release of its Season 3 finale.

“Only Murders in the Building” remains Hulu’s most watched comedy original ever, so it just makes sense it would get renewed so fast.

The October 3rd finale not only disclosed the season’s murder, but set the stage for Charles, Oliver and Mabel’s next investigation with a new murder.

Now that the WGA strike is over, work can begin on this new story for season 4, but it can’t be filmed until the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, so there’s no return date for the show yet.

The Show

“Only Murders in the Building” follows neighbors-turned-amateur sleuths Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), whose obsession with true crime leads them to investigate a series of murders in their Upper West Side apartment complex.

In Season 3, the trio went about solving the murder of movie star Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), who was poised to make his Broadway debut in Oliver’s play.

Additional series newcomers in the third season included three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, Grey’s Anatomy vet Jesse Williams as documentary filmmaker Tobert, and Emily in Paris‘ Ashley Park as social media influencer Kimber.

The series has eleven nominations for the upcoming 75th Primetime Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
