Disneyland Resort has announced the opening date for Tiana’s Palace restaurant inside Disneyland park, and guests won’t have long before they’ll be able to enjoy the New Orleans-inspired menu.
The Details
Tiana’s Palace will open to guests on September 7, 2023, as part of the transformation of New Orleans Square.
The quick service restaurant is themed after the restaurant in the movie “The Princess and The Frog,” with Disney Imagineers partnering with Disney Animation artists from the film to get the details as accurate as possible.
The interior of the restaurant will feature a large mural depicting the bayou where Tiana and her friends reside.
There will also be other references to Tiana’s story such as lilies represented on numerous signs, plaques and light fixtures; frog porcelains; cookbooks Tiana has collected on little shelves; and her father’s favorite gumbo spoon proudly on display.
Letters from Tiana’s father and neighbors will be on display, alongside a childhood photo of Tiana.
Mardi Gras colors will also be heavily featured in the decor as guests sit at yellow tabletops, on warm vanilla-colored chairs with green seats, in the shade of yellow and green umbrellas.
Disney hasn’t released a menu yet, but as soon as they do, we’ll share it with you. And we should soon get photos of the interior.
Most Magic Key passholders will receive a 10% discount, except for the Inspire Key, which will get 15%. Disney Visa Cardmembers will also receive 10% off.
Plus opening with Tiana’s Palace will be the return of the Mint Julep Bar – and hopefully its beignets will still be on the menu.
About the Restaurant
The film designers of “The Princess and The Frog” took inspiration from the exterior of the original French Market Restaurant in New Orleans when designing the restaurant for the movie, and now Disneyland’s French Market Restaurant has been transformed into Tiana’s Palace.
Disney says the menu will feature New Orleans classics including Southern comfort dishes, and plates with a Cajun and Creole twist.
It will be open starting with lunch daily. Mobile ordering will be available.
The new restaurant will join the recently opened retail shop, Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, and the upcoming attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (opening in 2024) in bringing “The Princess and the Frog” to life at Disneyland.
