During this weekend’s MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023, where Disney received one win (Elizabeth Olsen as “Best Villain” for “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness”), a first look at the song “Kiss the Girl” from “The Little Mermaid” live-action film was released.
This is part of the iconic scene where Ariel (Halle Bailey) and Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) take a boat ride as the mermaid princess tries to land a kiss from her love interest to break Ursula’s spell and get her voice back.
The clip also features appearances from Flounder (voiced by Jacob Tremblay), Sebastian (voiced by Daveed Diggs), and Scuttle (voiced by Awkwafina).

And if you need more proof that Bailey can handle the vocals of Ariel, watch and listen to this video recently released by Disney Music of her singing “Part of Your World.”
Walt Disney Studios also recently released posters for each of the main characters:
“The Little Mermaid” live-action film is the beloved story of Ariel (Bailey), a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure.
The youngest daughter of King Triton (Javier Bardem), and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric (Hauer-King).
While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
