Star Wars Day 2023 at the Disney Parks, Disney+, and Beyond


May the 4th is also known as “Star Wars Day” due to the date sounding like “May the Force,” and Disney is celebrating with its parks, on Disney+, and with new Star Wars merchandise to enjoy everywhere.


“Star Wars Day” brings several events to Disneyland, along with limited-time food, and sold out Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nites.

Star Wars Month also returns to Disneyland Resort for all of May through June 4, 2023.

Space Mountain has turned into Hyperspace Mountain for a limited time, and Guests who choose to purchase Disney Genie+ service can also try out a new Disney PhotoPass lens that allows them to customize their own Mandalorian helmet and armor.

There are two limited-time photo ops in Downtown Disney. One is to promote the new “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” series that debuts on Disney+ and Disney Channel on May 4.

The other is a “May the Force Be with You” frame photo op:

Plus, Guests staying at the hotels of the Disneyland Resort can continue the celebration with movie nights featuring favorite “Star Wars” saga films on select nights in May.

Walt Disney World

There are limited-time Galactic treats available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and other locations throughout Walt Disney World in honor of “Star Wars Day.”

There is also an unofficial Lightsaber Meetup at Galaxy’s Edge at 9:45pm on May 4th. All lightsabers are welcome as long as they are not actual weapons, and park admission and valid reservation are required to attend.

Finally, the “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser,” a first-of-its-kind immersive adventure that allows you to become the hero of your own “Star Wars” story, is also offering discounts on its two-night experience for Guests with a Walt Disney World Annual Pass, and for Disney Visa Cardholders.

Passholders can save up to 30% on voyages on select dates in May and June:

  • May 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29 and 31
  • June 2, 4, 6, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26 and 28

There are three new Disney+ shows that will debut on Star Wars Day, and they’re sure to appeal to the whole family.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” series is made for preschoolers, but will appeal to older fans as well.

Star Wars: Visions” is back for a second volume of this animated anthology of Star Wars stories.

Finally, from Springfield to a galaxy far, far away. Maggie Simpson stars in “Rogue Not Quite One” in a special one-off episode of the long-running series.

It finds Homer Simpson losing track of Maggie who hops in Grogu’s hovering pram for a hyperspace-hopping adventure across the galaxy. Facing a squadron of Imperial TIE fighters, Maggie brings the battle to Springfield in this epic short celebrating all things “Star Wars.”

For the Starbucks fans, new Star Wars mugs featuring designs for three planets…Jakku, Coruscant, and Mustafar…will be released on shopDisney on May 4th.

And these are but the tip of the mountain of new Star Wars merchandise that will be released in honor of Star Wars Day 2023.
