“I could do this all day,” is what Guests may say when “Rogers: The Musical” debuts at Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort starting June 30, 2023.
The Beginnings
Based on the Disney+ series Hawkeye, this musical about the “Battle of New York” in the original Avengers movie leapt off the screen into reality at D23 Expo 2022, when Marvel President Kevin Feige treated attendees to a live performance of the musical’s show-stopping number, “Save the City.”
Now, an all-new short one-act musical theater production of “Rogers: The Musical” is coming to the stage at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure park for a limited-time engagement as part of the Disney100 celebration.
The Show
First announced in February 2023, his production features a talented cast of singers and dancers telling the story of Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury, and select members of the Avengers.
The musical will take the audience on a journey from Steve’s humble beginnings during World War II to becoming Captain America, leading the Avengers and beyond.
In addition to “Save the City,” the musical will include “Star Spangled Man” from the film “Captain America: The First Avenger”; plus, five new original songs written just for this show at Disneyland.
“Rogers: The Musical” is scheduled to run approximately 30 minutes, and will most likely be performed Tuesdays through Saturdays most weeks according to Disney.
Additional details including show dates and times, plus news about the merchandise and food and beverage offerings will be released closer to the debut date.
As a reminder, currently a valid admission and a park reservation for the same date will be required to enter the park to view the show.
