Disneyland to Transform French Market Restaurant Into Tiana’s Palace

Disneyland - Tiana’s Palace

Disneyland has announced the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park will soon be transformed into a new eatery called Tiana’s Palace.

The Details

The new quick-service Tiana’s Palace will offer authentic New Orleans flavors inspired by Tiana’s friends and adventures, according to Disney. The menu will feature New Orleans classics alongside seasonal flavors.

It’s a bit of a full circle event, as the film designers of “The Princess and The Frog” took inspiration from the exterior of the original French Market Restaurant in New Orleans when designing Tiana’s Palace for the movie, and now Disneyland’s French Market Restaurant will become Tiana’s Palace.

Disney Imagineers are even partnering with Disney Animation artists from the original film to bring this story to life at Disneyland park.

The design will feature peach-colored walls and fancy green wrought-iron balconies, along with elegant fixtures and decor reminiscent of Tiana’s life.

The Timeline

To begin this work, French Market Restaurant and adjacent the Mint Julep Bar will be closed beginning February 17, 2023.

Plans are for Tiana’s Palace, plus a revamped Mint Julep Bar (with its famous mint juleps and Mickey beignets), to open later this year.

When we hear of a date, we’ll let you know.

The new restaurant will join the recently opened retail shop, Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, and the upcoming attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (opening in 2024) in bringing “The Princess and the Frog” to life at Disneyland.
