Disney Earns Nominations For 2023 SAG Awards, DGA Awards, WGA Awards, and MUAH Awards

2023 SAG Awards, DGA Awards, WGA Awards, and MUAH Awards nominations

Awards season as been kicked into high gear with this week’s Golden Globes, and Disney film and TV projects have now garnered nominations for the SAG Awards, DGA Awards, the WGA Awards, and the MUAH Awards.

As to be expected, Searchlight Pictures’ “The Banshees of Inisherin” and ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” continue to get recognition from every guild, but Searchlight’s “The Menu,” along with FX Network’s “The Bear” continue to surprise by nabbing nominations.

Here are all the Disney film and TV nominations announced this week:

Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations

Nominations for the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® were revealed this week, and The Walt Disney Company received 19 nods across 12 categories.

These awards are given to actors, and voted upon by members of SAG-AFTRA, a labor union representing approximately 160,000 film and television actors.

Screen Actors Guild Award winners will be announced on Sunday, February 26, 2023, on Netflix’s YouTube channel before the awards show moves to Netflix proper in 2024.

75 Directors Guild of America

The Directors Guild of America Awards Nominations

The Directors Guild of America has announced nominees for both film and television and Disney picked up several nominations.

Winners will be announced during the guild’s awards ceremony February 18 at the Beverly Hilton, and the DGA is a strong predictor of Oscar success historically since members also vote in the Best Director category at the Academy Awards.

The Writers Guild of America Awards

The Writers Guild of America has revealed the nominations for its 75th anniversary WGA Awards in the television, new media, news, radio/audio and promotional categories.

The ceremony is set for Sunday, March 5, hosted by the WGA West and WGA East. The Guild will release the film nominees Jan 25.

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAH) has released the nominations for its 10th anniversary awards show, which will take place on February 11, 2023, at the Beverly Hilton.
