Patti LuPone Joins Cast of Marvel’s ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ Disney+ Series

Agatha: Coven of Chaos - patti lupone

One of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel projects, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” has added stage and screen icon Patti LuPone to the cast of the Disney+ series.

The Details

Disney+ has not said what character LuPone will be playing, but my guess is she’ll be playing a witch of the coven in the series title, possibly even the head witch.

She certainly has the chops for it, having won three Tonys, four Drama Desk awards, two Olivier Awards, and two Grammy Awards for her accomplished musical theater career.

LuPone was most recently seen on Broadway in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” (for which she won one of her Tonys), and on TV in the most recent season of FX’s “American Horror Story.”

About The Series

“Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” stars Kathryn Hahn reprising her role of Agatha Harkness from the Marvel/Disney+ series “WandaVision.”

Not much is known about the storyline of this spin-off, but Agatha, who has been around since the Salem witch trials, was last seen trapped in the town of Westview after her battle with Wanda.

Actress Emma Caulfield Ford will also reprise her “WandaVision” role of Dottie, the Queen Bee neighbor caught up in Wanda Maximoff’s spell.

Also recently cast in unknown roles were Aubrey Plaza, possibly playing the main antagonist opposite Agatha; Joe Locke as a male lead character; and Ali Ahn and Maria Dizzia, who are rumored to be playing witches.

“WandaVision” series creator Jac Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, serves as writer and executive producer on this show, along with a planned Vision spin-off.

Marvel says “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” is part of Marvel’s Phase 5 plan of stories, and the series is expected to air on Disney+ sometime in Winter 2023.

WandaVision - Agatha

I’m really looking forward to this series, as I loved the character of Agatha and am a big fan of Kathryn Hahn’s work. Are you interested in watching the series? Let us know in the comments.
