‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Final Trailer Released As Tickets Go On Sale

Avatar: The Way of Water

Yesterday, The Walt Disney Company and 20th Century Studios held a variety of promotions for “Avatar Day” around the world, culminating with the release of the final trailer for the upcoming “Avatar: The Way of Water” film, along with other marketing materials.

The Trailer

The trailer begins with beautiful shots of various Na’vi clans coming together from land, sea, and air, then shots of the Sully family as Jake explains he just wants to keep them safe.

The world-building visuals in this trailer are just stunning.

Take a look:

Avatar Day

Disney has declared November 21 as “Avatar Day” and events took place worldwide yesterday for next month’s release of the second film in the “Avatar” series.

Venice had its famous canals turned blue with a projection on the water and buildings, and in Sydney, the iconic Bondi Beach Icebergs Pool was transformed into a giant blue birds’ eye view billboard for the film.

Meanwhile, at New York City’s famed Times Square, “Avatar: The Way of Water” simultaneously lit up 40 digital screens, immersing viewers in an anamorphic 3D, nearly 360 degree experience of Pandora’s breathtaking underwater world.

Snapchat Filter

As part of the promotions, Snapchat has a new filter that will transform you into one of the Na’vi. The new augmented reality lens uses machine learning to transform users’ mouths, eyes, head shape, hair and skin in real-time.

Amazon Alexa

Amazon Alexa is also bringing the sights and sounds of Pandora to its Echo devices.

Simply say, “Alexa, enable ‘Avatar’ theme” to get Avatar visuals and sounds whenever you set timers and alarms, ask for the weather, say hello and more. You can play quizzes and learn fun facts about Pandora. Just say “Alexa, start Avatar quiz” or “Alexa, tell me an Avatar fun fact.”

I’m told you can also say “Alexa, teach me Na’vi” for another adventure in learning the language.

When you’re ready to turn off the feature just say, “”Alexa, disable Avatar theme.”
