Disney Springs Foodie News Roundup for October 2022

If you’re a Disney Springs foodie visiting in October 2022, the month brings a lot of great new food and beverages to try, along with special events and more.

The Edison

This October, The Edison at Disney Springs is debuting a signature set of Halloween-inspired cocktails for guests to enjoy all spooky season long.

  • Pumpkin Spice Forever – Made with The Edison’s blend of Stoli Elit vodka, Borghetti espresso liqueur, Faretti biscotti liqueur, pumpkin spice and black walnut bitters.
  • Blood Donor – Served in a blood bag, the Blood Donor combines Aperol, Solerno, Espolòn Silver, lime juice and simple syrup to make a vivid crimson concoction.
  • Eye Drop – The Eye Drop includes a blend of Absolut Citron, Cointreau, acid-adjusted simple syrup and cherry juice, garnished with a spooky eyeball.
  • Red Rum – The Edison’s Red Rum cocktail, features Cruzan rum, orgeat, and hints of lemon, honey and cinnamon finished with muddled berries.

The Edison also hosts monthly mixology events at Disney Springs and this month’s Mixology Series will offer cocktails and accompanying bites inspired by Crown Royal Canadian Whisky.

The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, and Enzo’s Hideaway

Patina Restaurant Group is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month throughout October at The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, and Enzo’s Hideaway with a brand-new cocktail: The Pink Ribbon.

Made with Herradura Reposado, watermelon juice, lime juice, fresh muddled raspberries, and mint leaves, the refreshing beverage will be available through October 31, along with a nonalcoholic option named “The Little Pink Ribbon,” that features watermelon juice, lime juice, muddled fresh raspberries, and mint leaves.

The Edison Mixologist, Alana Sullivan, was inspired to develop the specialty drink by her mother’s brave triumph in her battle against breast cancer, and a portion of proceeds from each version of the drink will be donated to The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Ganachery

Among the Halloween-themed chocolate treats being offered through October 31, are a dark chocolate Minnie Ghost Piñata with treats inside, and dark-chocolate candy skulls filled with caramel ganache.

Gideon’s Bakehouse

Gideon’s Bakehouse is a must-stop for a Disney Springs foodie, and there are several limited items to enjoy this month.

For October, they’re offering not one, but two limited cookie flavors:

  • Frankenstein Lives! – This Cookie stitches together various Chocolates, Double Stuff Oreos, and M&M’s.
  • Bride of Frankenstein Returns! – Designed in the same mold as Frank but featuring White Chocolate, Golden Oreos, and M&M’s.

And two limited flavor cake slices:

  • Frankenstein Cake Slices – Three layers of Chocolate Cake, a ridiculous amount of Oreo Buttercream, and M&M’s, with upside down dark chocolate ganache drippings.
  • Bride of Frankenstein Cake Slices – Just like the Frankenstein slice but featuring Vanilla and Chocolate Cake with Golden Oreo Buttercream.

Plus Hispanic Heritage Month will be celebrated each weekend through Oct 15th, offering a Chocolate Churro Cookie and Cream Cheese Quesittos.

Finally, due to demand, the French Toast Cold Brew from last month remains through October.

Rainforest Cafe

For a limited time, Rainforest Cafe has five new dishes to enjoy:

  • Sirloin Stroganoff Ravioli – Sirloin steak, roasted wild mushrooms, quattro formaggi ravioli, and stroganoff sauce. Created by Chef Aliou Dore.
  • Butter Pecan Salmon – Salmon with a pecan crust, butter pecan sauce, maple butter, herbed potato medley, and roasted brussels sprouts.
  • Bourbon BBQ Ribs and Shrimp – Sticky pork ribs with bourbon BBQ glaze, Caribbean Coconut Shrimp, coleslaw, and Safari fries. Created by Chef Chris Oliver.
  • Shrimp Sampler Platter – Bourbon BBQ glazed shrimp, Caribbean Coconut shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, served with Caribbean rice.
  • Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Meatloaf – BBQ glazed meatloaf wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese, served with red skinned mashed potatoes, crispy onions, and seasonal vegetables. Created by Chef Ed Cox.
  • Oreo Banana Bread Pudding – Topped with vanilla ice cream, Oreos®, banana, caramel and fudge sauces. Created by Chef Bruce Grassa.

Salt & Straw

October’s limited ice cream flavors at Salt & Straw are part of the “The Ice SCREAM Series.” This month’s unusual flavors are:

  • Don Bugito’s Creepy Crawly Critters – Matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and chocolate crickets (yes, real bugs!)
  • Black Cat Licorice & Lavender – A silky, pitch-dark anise and fennel caramel mixed with salted lavender ice cream
  • The Great Candycopia – Homemade Kit Kats, Reeses, Snickers, Heath bars folded into a salted butterscotch ice cream
  • Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Bread – Tender hunks of just-baked pumpkin bread and swaths of whipped cream cheese frosting mixed in a pumpkin spiced ice cream
  • Double Bubble Toil & Trouble – This vegan treat features 2 spices and 3 fruits combined in a coconut cream for the perfect concoction that tastes just like bubble gum

Sprinkles

The bakery is offering several limited cupcake flavors throughout October. Here are a few of them:

  • Now – October 9: Sprinkle Hope (strawberry cake with sweet strawberry frosting decorated with pink and white sprinkles to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month)
  • Now – October 9: Black Velvet (Decadent dark chocolate cake topped with whipped chocolate ganache frosting and a black modern dot)
  • Now – October 9: Pumpkin Spice Latte (spiced pumpkin cake is filled with marshmallow cream and topped with Cuban coffee frosting)
  • Now – November 27: Pumpkin (spiced pumpkin cake laced with fragrant ginger, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon meets a layer of rich cinnamon cream cheese frosting)
  • October 10-16: Twix® (chocolate cake lined with a cookie crust and filled with caramel, all topped with chocolate cream cheese frosting, a ladle of ganache, and finished with mini Twix® decorations)

Swirls on the Water

Serving up these Halloween-inspired Dole Whip treats until October 31:

  • Oogie Boogie DOLE Whip Nachos – featuring pistachio soft-serve, whipped cream, raspberry boba pearls and waffle chips.
  • The Witch’s Flight – featuring Pumpkin Soft-Serve, Purple Cheesecake Soft-Serve, and Pineapple DOLE Whip

T-REX Cafe

For a limited time, T-Rex Cafe has five new dishes for a Disney Springs foodie to enjoy:

  • Apple Cider Salmon – Seared salmon with apple cider glaze, braised purple cabbage with Granny Smith apples, and herb roasted potato medley. Created by Chef Amged Tawfik.
  • Herb Crusted T-Bone Steak – 17oz Certified Angus Beef® Sirloin T-Bone steak, garlic parmesan baby potatoes, roasted baby carrot medley, and wild mushroom-garlic steak butter.
  • Pork Osso Buco – Marinated, slow-cooked pork shank, on a bed of yellow rice, kale, and roasted sweet potatoes. Created by Chef Gene Upshaw.
  • Pot Roast Pot Pie – Slow-cooked pot roast, roasted carrots, celery, mushrooms and onion, red skinned mashed potatoes, rich brown gravy topped with an herb crusted biscuit.
