Walt Disney World to Close Disney Skyliner for Refurbishment in Jan. 2023

Disney Skyliner

Walt Disney World has given notice that the popular Disney Skyliner will be closed for a week in January 2023 for refurbishment.

The Details

Disney says all lines of the Disney Skyliner will be closed for routine maintenance January 22-29, 2023.

To ensure the facilities are maintained to the highest quality standards, they are conducting routine maintenance on all three lines at the same time.

They have chosen to work on all three lines simultaneously to complete the work quickly so Guests can get back to enjoying the aerial transportation as soon as possible.

Last year the work was done around the same time but each line was done separately. Even then, they managed to finish a day or two early, so the line resumed operation when it was.

However, plan on it being down the full week when planning your vacation.

Alternate Transportation

Walt Disney World says while the Disney Skyliner is closed, Guests may use bus transportation to reach EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from their Skyliner resorts.

They plan to slightly increase the amount of busses available to accommodate the extra passengers who normally would take the aerial transportation.

Allow extra time to your transportation when using the busses to get around, and remember the EPCOT busses will take you to the front entrance instead of the International Gateway entrance like the gondolas do.

Guests can also use the Disney Minnie Vans for a fee to get around.

About the Disney Skyliner

This exciting mode of complimentary transportation first opened in September 2019 at Walt Disney World.

It uses aerial gondolas to transport guests from select resorts to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT.

These resorts are: Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Carribean Beach, and Disney’s Riviera.
