About the Series
Narrated and executive produced by Garth Brooks, “America’s National Parks” will showcase the breathtaking landscape and extraordinary wildlife in parks full of rich surprises and wonder.
It will take viewers on an extraordinary adventure across world-famous and lesser-known national parks to reveal the diversity and wonder of this beautiful country.
The docuseries utilizes cutting-edge technology, including long-lens cinematography, remote camera traps, and the latest high-resolution drone technology to capture not only stunning landscapes, but intimate glimpses into the lives of the intriguing animals that inhabit these parks.
Parks that will be spotlighted during the five-part series are Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Big Bend, Badlands, and Hawai’i Volcanoes National Parks.
A Special Guest
First Lady Jill Biden will start off each night of the series with a special message about how each national park connects people to a piece of the American story.
She will also wrap up the series on the final episode with a message that highlights the wondrous parks and animals showcased throughout the series.
“America’s national parks are full of unrivaled natural beauty, geological wonders, cultural history and amazing wildlife” said Dr. Biden in the press release.
“Each national park connects people to a piece of the American story — who we are and where we came from. With at least one national park in every state, all Americans can enjoy them. Some are close to home, [and] others require a little more planning and travel, but however far you choose to go, national parks connect us to the wonder and renewal of nature, helping us discover more about our country and ourselves.
America’s national parks belong to all of us, so I encourage everyone to go out and enjoy them.”
In cooperation with the White House’s Joining Forces Initiative, National Geographic will also premiere a PSA throughout the five-night event in which Dr. Biden shows appreciation for our military community, and reminds current service members and their families, veterans and Gold Star families of their free entry into all national parks across the country.
“America’s National Parks” is set to premiere on August 29 at 9 ET/8 C, and will air over five consecutive nights on the National Geographic channel.
All five episodes will stream on Disney+ starting August 31.
