Just in time for summer, Disneyland’s Grizzly River Run attraction will reopen after a two month refurbishment on March 31, 2022.
The water ride, located at Disney California Adventure, closed January 24 for its annual refurbishment, but no major changes have been made during this closure.
Grizzly River Run is a river rapids ride based on the legend of Grizzly Peak, named after the majestic grizzly bear that is the symbol of California.
According to early folklore, Grizzly Peak was once a giant bear named Oo-soo’-ma-te, whom A-ha-le the Coyote transformed into stone to watch over and protect the mountain.
The attraction uses eight-person rafts that spin as they descend the water chutes. It gets you wet…very wet!
It is one of the park’s original attractions, opening with Disney California Adventure on February 8, 2001, and in 2022, guests can once again enjoy Grizzly River Run when it reopens at 8am on March 31.
