Disney+ has announced it has given a second season order to “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” which wrapped up its first season last November.
Peyton Elizabeth Lee stars as the titular teenage doctor in this gender-swapped reboot of the classic ’90s series “Doogie Howser, M.D.” that finds 16-year-old Lahela “Doogie” Kameāloha juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager in modern-day Hawaiʻi.
The cast of the series also includes Jason Scott Lee, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Matthew Sato, Wes Tian, Emma Meisel, Mapuana Makia and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. Ronny Chieng, Alex Aiono.
When the series last left Lahela, she had made a difficult decision involving her boyfriend, and the hospital got a new Chief of Staff, so there’s plenty to look forward to in season two.
No word on when this new season will air, but season one is available to binge on Disney+.
Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. is a Disney Branded Television series and is produced by 20th Television for Disney+. It premiered on the streamer on September 8, 2021.
