Late yesterday “Hocus Pocus 2” producer Adam Shankman revealed two big pieces of news on his Instagram.
The first is that the movie has officially wrapped shooting, which means it is now headed into post-production.
The second is that the release date on Disney+ is now “Halloween 2022”, though Shankman didn’t specify if that meant Halloween day (Oct 31, 2022) or just sometime Halloween season (typically the month of October). Either is better than the “fall 2022” we got when the project was first announced.
He also posted this cute photo with his announcement:
In this sequel, three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem. They must then figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as the delightfully wicked Sanderson Sisters.
As we announced last Halloween, joining them will be Doug Jones, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Juju Brenner, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen.
Another good thing about the production wrapping is that we can expect to see at least a teaser trailer soon.
Who is excited to see “Hocus Pocus 2” when it comes out on Disney+? Are you happy there’s a sequel to the popular movie? Let us know in the comments!
