Small Fire Breaks Out at Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World

Last night (Dec. 14), guests at the Magic Kingdom had to evacuate an area of the park last night when a small fire occured near Cinderella’s Castle.

A call went out to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 6:24pm, according to their online call logs.

The Orlando Sentinel reports, Reedy Creek Fire responded after they received an early evening call about an electrical fire on a junction box outside the castle.

Once firefighters arrived, they saw a tree on fire next to the structure. One person suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene after accidentally inhaling chemicals from a fire extinguisher, fire officials said.


Walt Disney World issued a brief statement about the incident:

“There was a small fire in Magic Kingdom. The fire was quickly extinguished by fire extinguishers. No one was hurt.”
