Disney Garners 2022 Golden Globes Nominations in Film and TV

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 79th annual Golden Globe Awards, yesterday, and several Disney-related movies and TV received nods.

Disney did really well on the TV side, with nominations for shows on ABC, Disney+, FX, Hulu, and National Geographic. On the film side, most of the nominations went to “West Side Story” and “Encanto.”

While in past years, the awards would have been announced live on NBC, this year’s event will go untelevised due to the recent controversy over its lack of diversity and shoddy ethical practices.

It’s also unknown how much the movie nominations will affect the Oscar nominations, as they have in the past.

But to receive a nod is still nice, and the nominations were read by Snoop Dog, of all people, during a live stream.
