Disneyland’s it’s a small world will see its reopening delayed due to flooding that occurred while transforming the ride for the holidays on Wednesday morning (Nov 10).

According to the OC Register, the flooding occurred during the process of refilling the flume on it’s a small world and it affected machinery used to operate the attraction.

The event occurred in the early morning hours before park open.

The attraction regularly undergoes a seasonal transformation for the holidays each year that takes weeks of work, mostly by overnight crews.

The holiday version of it’s a small world was supposed to reopen yesterday (Nov. 11) for the first Merriest Nites after hours event, and for the kickoff of the holiday season at Disneyland today, Nov. 12.

The nightly holiday lighting ceremony on the facade of it’s a small world that happens around dusk will still take place each night while the attraction remains closed. In addition, the facade will still be used for video projections during the “Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks show.

No estimate on the new reopening date has been announced for the attraction yet. However, according to Disneyland officials, the park has teams working around the clock to get the attraction open as soon as possible.
