Walt Disney World to Open Space 220 Lounge at EPCOT

Space 220 Lounge at EPCOT - cocktail

In addition to the space-themed restaurant Space 220 opening at EPCOT on Monday, September 20, Walt Disney World will also be opening an adjoining Lounge area.

The Space 220 Lounge will feature Atmospheric Spirits (cocktails), as well as wine, and beer, for those that need a refresher in that area of the park.

The Lounge will also offer a Flight Bites menu to snack on while enjoying your libations. The menu will include:

ASTRO DEVILED EGGS
(Free-Range Eggs, Maple Glazed Bacon, Scallion, Pickled Shallots, Micro Cilantro | $12)
STARRY CALAMARI
(Fried Calamari, Italian Cherry Peppers, Spicy Marinara, Roasted Pepper Citrus Aioli | $19)
BLUE MOON CAULIFLOWER
(Tempura Fried Cauliflower, Housemade Hot Sauce, Blue Cheese Dust | $17)
CHICKEN ON WAFFLE
(Fried Chicken, Smoked Bacon and Roasted Corn Waffle, Spiced Coleslaw, Bourbon Maple Glaze | $18)
SHORT RIB SLIDERS
(White Cheddar Cheese, Sriracha Aioli, Lettuce, Tomato, Butter Pickles | $18)
NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL
(Chilled Maine Lobster, Butter Toasted Bun, Celery, Chive, Lemon Mayonnaise | $34)

Those Short Rib Sliders are calling to me. What dishes do you want to try?

No word on if the Lounge will be on Earth or up in “space,” next to the restaurant, but it will definitely be a welcome place to take a break in Future World.

  1. This sounds fantastic!
We’ll be there end of October and want to make a lunch reservation on the 20th, will the reservations open in the morning or after midnight?
Thanks so much for this info.

  2. Thanks Michelle, I took a chance and got up at 5 am to start trying for a reservation.
Imagine my shock at 5:45 am I actually got through and was able to confirm lunch at 2:30
on my first choice of day in October.
Now I have another dining question for you.
We made a reservation 60 days prior for dinner at the Rose and Crown at 8:10. hoping to stay late enough to view Harmonious from there.
This was before they came out with the Rose and Crown Harmonious dinner event.
If we’re unable to change our regular dinner reservation to the event dinner, do you think they’ll kick us out at 9:45 when the show begins?
What about those that already have late dinner reservations? I know I could call WDW about this but frankly they don’t always have the answers and it’s agonizing trying to even get through to a representative, I’ve been on hold as long as 3 hours before.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks so much!

    1. Congrats on getting the Space 220 reservation! I just posted my experience on the blog today. As for the Rose and Crown Harmonious dinner event, they’re usually pretty strict when they have paid-for dining events. If you’re seated in the waterfront area, they probably will ask you to leave since they have paid-for reservations for those tables for the event. Interior tables I’m not sure of, but you won’t get the view of Harmonious. It’s like when they have after-hours events at Magic Kingdom like Boo Bash, they ask everyone to leave and only those with Boo Bash wristbands can stay. I wish I had better news for you, but I would suggest to keep trying for a Harmonious reservation. Tables may open up if there are cancellations.

  4. Yes, I read your post about Space 220 and thank you so much for sharing your experience.
We’re so excited and can’t wait to dine there.
I figured as much as far as Rose and Crown kicking us out for the fireworks so I’m going to probably be up all night waiting to make a reservation for the Harmonious event.
We also have tickets for Boo Bash that week. This will be a first for us at an after hours event so we’re looking forward to that as well.
Have you attended Boo Bash yet and if so could you direct me to your post?
    Thank again!

    1. Sounds like you have a great trip lined up! Unfortunately I’m not attending Boo Bash this year, so I don’t have any in person reports to share. I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time, though. =)

  5. Hi there,
Just a follow up to the Rose and Crown question.
I called WDW and asked about them asking us to leave when Harmonious began and the very nice cast member
said no, they wouldn’t do that. But who knows since this is a new event.
    I was up every hour since midnight last night checking to book Spice Road Table or Rose and Crown event;
Finally got into a waiting room at 5:15 am, waited 1 hour and was able to book Spice Road Table Event at 6:15 am and canceled the Rose and Crown dinner reservation.
    Yippee!!
