Build your own Winnie the Pooh house with official LEGO Ideas Set

Take a nostalgic trip to the 100 Acre Wood with this new fan created official Disney LEGO set of Winnie the Pooh’s house and his friends. Build the iconic Pooh House in a large oak tree, complete with beehives and bees. The house can be opened up to unveil a whole host of furniture and unique items, such as the “Pooh-coo” Clock, box of “Pooh sticks”, Tigger’s locket, and of course, plenty of honey pots – both full and empty!

This new LEGO build kit is based on original designs by LEGO builder and super fan Ben Alder. We first spotlighted Ben’s project two years ago and encouraged fans to vote to make it a real LEGO kit.

At the time we asked Adler, what drove him to choose this as a LEGO project idea. “As a child I loved Winnie the Pooh,” he said. “I remember my parents reading stories about him to me. I now have a four year old who now loves me reading him the same story to him so it’s something close to my heart.”

Then, a little less than one year later, Alder shared the good news with us that his fan made LEGO Winnie the Pooh House had passed review and was approved to be sold in stores.

Finally, the time has arrived and Winnie the Pooh fans young and old can now order their own kit and build their own LEGO version of the 100 Acre Wood.

The version sold by LEGO is slightly different from what Ben originally created, here’s a look at the project as he envisioned it:

And here’s the final project that will be in stores:

While the design is a bit different in the end, Ben did get to add a few special touches to the final LEGO set. For instance, his children, who inspired his design of Winnie-the-Pooh’s house, have their initials hidden in one of the design elements

Disney fans, of course, are familiar with A. A. Milne’s tales of Christopher Robin’s adventures. We really think this LEGO model captures how the television and film adaptations brought the characters’ world to life.

The new set also includes five new moulded characters, each with their own accessories. Pooh himself has his red balloon to collect honey from the bees in the branches above, Piglet is wrapped up in his scarf, and Tigger has just moved to the woods with his sack on a stick. Meanwhile, Rabbit has carrots ready for snacking, and Eeyore comes complete with his tail and a removable ribbon.

Other notable inclusions to the set include; a campfire and log for Pooh to think about the things that he discovers, his front door complete with “Mr. Sanders” sign above it, his adorable blue bell to ring the front door, and finally, a signpost to the Hundred Acre Wood to make sure Pooh finds his way home.

Winnie the Pooh Lego set with characters

“Winnie the Pooh is a 95-year-old story that is loved globally, so seeing Ben’s design sparked a lot of nostalgia for us all,” commented Federico Begher, VP of Global Marketing at The LEGO Group. ”Plus, his personal story about how he created the set for his family to play out the lovely Winnie the Pooh stories using LEGO bricks felt like a beautiful combination of family, LEGO bricks, and Winnie the Pooh that we wanted to share with others.

Begher continued, “We also had the rare treat of being able to create all new characters for this LEGO Ideas set. We simply had to see how the line-up of Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit and Piglet would look like in mini figure shape. As well as creating a brand-new Eeyore figure!”

The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh set is available directly from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com from 18th March, 2021 for LEGO VIP members, and 1st April 2021 for all.

We love it when Disney fans get recognition for their passions. Congratulations Ben on finally seeing your project become available to purchase.
