Fans just can get enough of Disney on Broadway. If you’re heading to New York City to see one of Disney’s three Broadway productions, you’ll have some new options for showtimes to choose from.
Disney Theatrical Productions announced new fall schedules for all three of its current Broadway productions. Aladdin will add Monday night performances in place of Wednesday matinees most weeks beginning Monday, August 26th. The Lion King will continue its Tuesday through Sunday performance schedule, adding Sunday evening performances in place of Wednesday matinees beginning the week of Tuesday, August 20th. Frozen will continue its Tuesday through Sunday performance schedule, adding Sunday evening performances in place of Wednesday matinees beginning the week of Tuesday, August 27. Aladdin’s Monday performances are at 7 pm; The Lion King Sunday matinee performances are at 1:30 pm and Sunday evening performances are at 6:30 pm; and Frozen’s Sunday matinee performances are at 1:00 pm and Sunday evening performances are at 6:30 pm.
Moving to a Monday show for Aladdin could help them capture some new fans in the cave of wonders. Monday is traditionally a dark day for Broadway shows, so there are inevitably tourists looking for something todo. More matinee performances for Frozen and The Lion King will also allow Disney to rack up more ticket sales. Not that The Lion King needs the help, it’s already king of the box office for all time.
