Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort’s new tower nears July opening

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is just about one month away from opening the Gran Destino Tower, a 15-story tower that will add 500 new rooms. Along with the new rooms comes new dining options, pools, and a new main lobby and guest registration area. We stopped by this weekend to see how far construction has progressed.

It looks like final details are now being added to the exterior of the tower. The design reflects the Spanish era of explorers and the influences of its artists, writers, and architects.

Three Bridges Bar & Grill will sit in the middle of Lake Dorado offering serene views to go along with its casual dining and lounge atmosphere. It looks ready to open now, but right now is expected to open with the new tower in July.

The Gran Destino Tower will often dining with a view. Toledo will have a menu focused on tapas, steaks and seafood while offering a unique rooftop dining experience. Its lounge will offer outdoor seating as well.

One lounge isn’t enough for the top of the tower, guests will also find Dahlia Lounge offering its own spin on cocktails.

Downstairs in the lobby, guests will find the Barcelona Lounge featuring the eclectic designs and colors of the Barcelona region of Spain. In the morning it will operate as a coffee bar with pastries and breakfast items. As the day lingers, the space will transition to an artisanal cocktail bar.

Merchandise reflecting the look of the new tower is already available.

We expect to get a closer look at a media event in early July. Dining Reservations are already open for July 9th going forward.
