Whether you’re looking to celebrate that special life event or just want to experience world class dining, Disney’s talented chefs are ready to dish up some amazing meals. But only a very few restaurants get honored as the best of the best with prestigious AAA Diamond or Forbes Travel Guide Stars awards. In 2019 two of Disney’s restaurants have received these accolades – Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Winning awards is nothing new for Victoria & Albert’s, it has been awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award every year since 2000, it has also earned the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award for the second year in a row. That makes it the only restaurant in the entire state of Florida to hold both awards and one of only 26 other restaurants in the United States with the unique status.
Across the country, the Napa Rose has earned its eighth AAA Four Diamond ranking in a row. Led by executive chef Andrew Sutton, the restaurant celebrates the diverse tastes of California with a menu that changes seasonally and reflects the restaurant’s commitment to sourcing California’s finest, freshest ingredients.
Congratulations to both the Victoria & Albert’s and Napa Rose teams for earning these awards. They’re in rarefied air.
To earn a diamond rating from AAA you must distinguish yourself from the 32,000 restaurants it rates. Only 0.2 percent of the restaurants are awarded the AAA Five Diamond rating and 2.1 percent receive the AAA Four Diamond. The awards are judged based on combination of overall food, service, décor, and ambiance.
The Forbes Travel Guide starts with a select list of 1,600 restaurants across the globe and only 69 establishments received the Five-Star rating. As part of an anonymous inspection, Forbes Travel Guide’s test each restaurant against up to 900 rigorous standards. It’s a real achievement for any restaurant to receive the esteemed Five-Star rating.
