With Epcot now running four festivals each year, two of which last for 90 days, the transition from the Festival of the Arts to Flower and Garden Festival is just a little over a week. Today was the last day for Disney’s popular new arts festival and the flowers will bloom beginning March 6 then run through June 3, 2019 – an amazing 90 days.
The transition of the amazing floral beds in Future World has already begun with rows bright, beautiful flowers already begging to fill in the banks around Epcot’s ponds on either side of the entrance to World Showcase.
Disney has also started to move in a few Topiary in various country pavilions, starting with Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan plant-life sculptures in the UK Pavilion. New topiary this year include a Pixar Toy Story themed grouping of Bo Peep and her Sheep.
Big props to Disney World’s horticulture teams for preparing and working hard to make the transitions happen so rapidly.
New in the 2019 are four new outdoor kitchens:
- The Citrus Blossom
- Flavor Full Kitchen hosted by AdventHealth
- Trowel & Trellis hosted by Impossible Foods
- Arbor at The Gardeners Terrace
Joining the fun is the new Play Full Garden and the Washed Ashore Penguin sculpture presented by Disneynature. We love to get to the festival early and see the artists creating those Disneynature sand sculptures at work.
There are also a bunch of new acts in the “Garden Rocks Concert Series.”
