The Tropical Hideaway previews first menu items for new Disneyland eatery

Dry clean your loudest Aloha shirt or dress, dust off that tiki mug, a new Tropical Hideaway is opening at Disneyland near the original Walt Disney’s Tiki Room. Replacing the long abandoned Aladdin’s Oasis restaurant, The Tropical Hideaway will be an exotic marketplace for discovering extraordinary eats from all corners of the world.

In addition to a new location to enjoy your Dole Whip, you will find a variety of unique food and beverage items to sample and share in a tropical tiki setting. In addition to the tiki theme, there will also be some Jungle Cruise elements mixed in at the trader’s market. We would not be surprised to see some SEA details too. SEA stands for Society of Explorers and Adventurers, which is Imagineering’s kinda loose backstory tying the world’s Adventurelands together (and a remnant from the old Adventurers Club in Pleasure Island).

Among the expected food choices are warmed steam bao buns available in three different flavors – Spiced Vegetable Bao, Kaffir Lime Chicken Bao, and Bulgogi Beef Bao. You can also try a delicious chilled ramen salad or grab a tropical-inspired snack. For a sweet treat, you will enjoy the Sweet Pineapple Lumpia, a spring roll filled with pineapple and sweet cream cheese, that will seem familiar to those who visited Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (we recommend it!).

As the open-air doc looks over the Jungle River water front, you can enjoy the musical sounds of the tropics, magical moments with friends, and, as the sun goes down, flickering torch lights. It sounds like a very enchanting venue.

No official opening date yet other than later this year. But stay tuned.
