Disney’s Coronado Springs is a popular destination for convention attendees. So popular that Disney has embarked on a massive expansion with a new tower, additional meeting space and new dining facilities. One of those facilities, Villa del Lago, will sit in the middle of the lake reachable by new boardwalks that will criss-cross the lake shortening walk times from resort rooms to the resort amenities.
This new oasis will be a bar and grill with seats for 60 people and meeting rooms capable of hosting an additional 90 people. It looks amazing sitting out there over the water, a great place to grab some cool drinks and light fare with friends or colleagues.
Disney has also been remodeling the Rix Sport Bar & Grill which is now open and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Of course, the Coronado Springs has one of the better pool complexes with it’s Mayan pyramid theme and slide.
Coronado Springs may be a convention hotel, but it is still the favorite destination for many Disney World guests who like the feel of being away from it all, while still being central to all four theme parks. The new tower and Villa del Lago are set to open in 2019.
