‘Incredibles 2’ image has us ready for more from Pixar

The first family of supers is all together in the first image released from Pixar’s upcoming “Incredibles 2” animated feature. It shows Mr Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, Violet, and the baby Jack-Jack all in their costumes in some sort of downtown area.

The image has the same grey visual aesthetic as the fight at the end of the first movie where the family encountered “The Underminer” in the final scene. It’s rumored that the new movie will pick up right where the old movie left off.

That would be super cool, but I think there are enough differences that this moment occurs somewhere else in the movie.

What else do you notice about the image, besides the obvious fact that there are no capes.

About the movie:

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), “Incredibles 2” will zoom into theaters on June 15, 2018.
