The weekend before “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is destined to rule everything for the foreseeable future, Pixar’s “Coco” spent its third week atop the box office charts. The animated tale brought in $73.6 Million around the globe with $18.3M of that domestically.
In the US, the box office numbers since Thanksgiving have been relatively weak and “Coco” has only earned $136M total. Internationally, the film has done much better bringing in $254M (more than $125M of that from China alone). The movie should pass $400M in worldwide box office this week and many international markets have yet to open.
“Coco” film finished this week ahead of “Justice League,” “Wonder,” “The Disaster Artist,” and Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok.”
Speaking of “Thor: Ragnarok” it just flew passed $833M at the worldwide box office. It’s now the 7th highest grossing title of 2017.
