Sampling a few of Trader Sam’s holiday spirits at Disneyland

Yesterday my buddy Jack and I headed over to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel so I could show him the fantastically themed dive for the first time. Little did I know that the bar pushes its theming even further during the holidays, with snow drifting past the “fauxcean”-view windows, vintage Christmas decor adorning the walls, and a selection of festive seasonal drinks.

Jack went for the rum-heavy Shrunken Zombie Head in hopes of getting one of the souvenir mugs, but we underestimated the popularity of the mugs as they were unfortunately sold out. The drink itself seemed a bit too strong for his liking, but we both enjoyed my drink of choice for the night, Sam’s Slay Ride.

I expected a bit more sweetness to this drink, its holiday flair more on the subtle side, but there are plenty of other yuletide beverages available at the resort so perhaps I’ll try something more overtly over-the-top next time (Holiday Eggnog Cocktail at California Adventure, I’m looking at you).

I need to start saying more about the drinks I try in my videos in the videos themselves; being a youngin’ who’s new to the drinking scene I don’t have much to compare to with the drinks I get, so more often than not I just take a sip and say “‘s good”!

But good it was.

Mele Kalikimaka everybody!
