Blaze Pizza flagship location under-construction at Disney Springs

05-blaze-sign-1

The sign advertising the future Disney Springs location of Blaze Pizza says “Your Assembly Required.” It’s a Chipotle (or Subway if you prefer) model quick service location where you choose your pizza crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings, then Blaze Pizza’s experts fast-bakes it in their super-heated pizza oven to deliver to you the pizza of your dreams.

You’ll choose from over 40 toppings to place on your 11-inch pizza. It is then fast-fired and available about 3 minutes later. In addition to pizzas, you can choose a salad, drink, or a s’more pie for dessert.

It took a little bit of navigating through the newly opened Town Center section of Disney Springs to find the future home of Blaze Pizza. It’s actually located between D-Luxe Burgers and Planet Hollywood Observatory. If you’re coming from The Landing side, here’s a little bridge you cross from the path next to the future Art Smith’s Homecoming restaurant.

The Blaze Pizza Disney Springs location will be a 5,000 square foot flagship restaurant for the chain. What I love about the design (seen above in the concept art) is how the wood beams are suspended without supports on one side. It gives a very open air feel to the outdoor porch, one that will allow patrons to enjoy the atmosphere of the Springs as they enjoy their pizza.

A little known fact is that Blaze Pizza was founded by Elise and Rick Wetzel (co-founder of Wetzel’s Pretzels). Investors include LeBron James and Maria Shriver. Blaze Pizza is artisinal pizza, where you’re the artist. Are you looking forward to making your own Blaze Pizza when the location opens later this year?

    1. We have one of these in New Haven, but I haven’t tried it yet (because, why would you try a chain pizza place in New Haven??), but the pizzas I saw coming out of there looked pretty good. Will definitely try it next time we’re at Disney, as there are few places to get a good pizza there.

The prices there seemed reasonable, but of course there will be the “you’re at Disney” markup…

    2. Where I live in North Carolina the pizza’s start at around a $7.50 base price and go up from there. They are nicely sized as well. I would expect it to be more expensive at Disney (because what isn’t) but not by too terribly much.

  1. There is one in Indy… and it is real good. Think of it as a Subway for pizza. They also have gluten-free crust options.
Prices are very reasonable and they are large enough to share between 2 people.

This will be a good QS addition to Disney Springs if you ask me.
