Known for years as Mickey’s Mall, Downtown Disney eventually grew to include Pleasure Island a night time entertainment zone known for great fun and some slight loitering problems. All that’s in the past as Disney has rolled out a new concept that will focus on shopping and dining with a dash of entertainment. Construction on the Disney Springs project is expected to be complete later this year and with it more than 150 new shops and restaurants to enjoy.
The largest area of expansion is the Town Center district. We’re nearing the day when the first new sections of Town Center are opened in Disney Springs. Also growing is the original Marketplace section and some finishing touches in the the former Pleasure Island area, now called The Landing.
