We’re now less than a month away from the grand opening of “Rivers of Light” a new night time water pageant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Here’s a look at construction of the two ‘villages’ of seating along with some of the buildings that will house show infrastructure, including lighting.
As you can see in the video, a lot of the detail work is now underway, turning plain buildings into something that fits with the background. On the Expedition Everest side that means they look like they belong in the village of Anandapur. On the Finding Nemo side, things are a bit simpler, but there is some effort to camouflage them. You’ll also notice that some new lighting has been installed in the form of little lights and lanterns that will hang above the audiences.
The show itself is in early stages of testing and staging of the floats. There have been some videos of the floats on the water, we highlighted a few here, and there were a few more that crept online yesterday.
There will be Fastpass+ access as well as dining packages, but so far no details have been released. Which is a bit odd considering those things are usually made pretty far ahead of time. In fact, even the park hours for those days haven’t been adjusted yet. Stay tuned, I guess.
“Rivers of Light” is just one part of a whole menu of new experiences being added to Disney’s Animal Kingdom awakenings after the sun goes down.
Update: Mousesteps just uploaded their video of the floats testing from Yesterday. Check it out
