By the Chinese zodiac, 2016 will be the Year of the Monkey, and Disney will be celebrating with the return of the Happy Lunar New Year Celebration at Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure from February 5-8. Many Asian cultures celebrate the Lunar New Year, but guests of all backgrounds are invited to enjoy the festivities.
The event features performers, musicians, and artisans. Performances will be seen throughout the day at the Paradise Garden Stage and nearby locations.
During the celebration, Mulan and Mushu will join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Chip n’ Dale will be available in their Lunar New Year costumes. Additionally, special merchandise and authentic food selections will be available.
The Happy Lunar New Year Celebration at DCA runs February 508 from 11AM to 5PM each day.
Huh. We’ll be there. Mostly because we’re running away from the Super Bowl. I hadn’t even considered it being Lunar New Year too. Jeebus. I don’t want to be anywhere near San Francisco that weekend. Disneyland is so the right answer. (We pictured making up t-shirts with a football team chasing us into the arms of a welcoming Mickey Mouse.)
