Extend your vacation at Tuckaway Shores Resort on Florida’s Space Coast

Note: We were provided a free stay and monetary compensation in return for this review. However, the opinions are entirely our own.

We’re residents of Central Florida who love to travel, but have a limited travel budget. That means we’re always looking for the perfect place to escape for a weekend within driving distance of our home. You may be only a sometimes visitor to the wonderful attractions of Central Florida, but you shouldn’t overlook Tuckaway Shores Resort as a way to extend your vacation with a few relaxing days at the beach.

Located in Indialantic on the Space Coast of Florida, Tuckaway Shores is just about an hour from the attractions area. The resort overlooks one of Florida’s most perfect beaches.

It’s located just far enough away from the heavy touristy areas to avoid the crowds, but close enough that if you want to enjoy some of the culinary or entertainment options of the coast, you’re just a short drive away.

We arrived and were quickly greeted by the friendly staff. Our room was on the second of three floors, a spacious Queen suite with a fully equipped kitchenette and typical conveniences (TV’s, free wireless Internet, and Cable.

The couch contained a hideaway bed, which was perfect because we had four in our party. Those who slept on the bed said it was as comfortable as their beds at home. There was enough room for four to hang out, enjoy the private balcony and even eat in the room, but you’re not there to stay in the room.

The beach is mere steps from the room, which means you can be in the water or enjoying the sun in just minutes. While we were there, we saw pods of porpoises swimming up and down the coast, plus the occasional paddle-boarder. Be aware that during turtle breeding time, there are no lights on the beach, so your fun will end as the sun goes down.

Once you’re done enjoying the beach, the hotel has some great amenities. The pool was a popular spot to cool down and had plenty of pool toys for the kids to use. We also put the hotel’s Big Green Egg grill to good use. We had one of those growing up and it makes the perfect steaks, chicken or veggies.

Part of what makes Tuckaway Shores Resort a wonderful place to stay its its relative small size for Florida resorts, but it still includes great amenities. There’s a business center in the lobby with a computer, printer, and free fax access. The room service was great and the resort is certified by the Superior Small Lodging Association, plus they possess the White Glove award for exceptional housekeeping.
