Sold-Out Disenchanted! gets open-ended run on Broadway

Disenchanted

The Snowpocaplyse may have left New York City as quick as it came, but the off-Broadway hit of the year “Disenchanted!” will stick around for an extended stay.

The crew just found out that their sold-out limited holiday engagement was such a hit, they’ve been asked back to an open ended run. Their first show will be March 16th at a new location – the Westside Theatre Upstairs. That’s pretty much the dream scenario for a production like this.

“Disenchanted!” lampoons the Disney-esque fairy tale and features appearances by a multitude of princesses and heroines including: Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, and The Princess who kissed the frog.

The off-beat look at famous fairy-tales was originally workshopped in Florida, premiered at Orlando’s Fringe Festival in 2011, and previous casts have included somevery talented individuals who performed frequently at the parks. The cast for the new production has yet to be announced.

Have you seen Disenchanted!?

  1. John, if you have a chance to see this, take it. I saw it way back when they were still in Orlando and it is one of the best things I have ever seen.
