Star Wars Episode VII Rumor Roundup

Ahoy: we’re talking rumors here, so spoilers ahead and your mileage may vary. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

JJ Abrams on Tatooine?

JJ Abrams on Tatooine?

Star Wars: VII got its official subtitle last week, say hi to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Unfortunately, this title does very little in revealing or confirming any major story details. Regardless, there are one or two rumors that have begun to float to the top as the most likely.

It is said that The Force Awakens will take place approximately 30 years after Return of the Jedi. The battle since then has not been an easy one. The empire did not simply fall with the Emperor but instead drew out their fall into a long and bloody conflict.

To start off, it is pretty likely that the film will take place on Tatooine for a bit. From the Star Wars charity segments, we see J.J. Abrams against a desert city backdrop that looks a lot like Tatooine.

The plot is rumored to focus on a young junk scavenger rumored to be named Kira (Daisy Ridley) and a currently nameless Storm Trooper (John Boyega), will call him Troop for now. It seems Kira will rescue Troop after he crash lands near her home, which is possibly an abandoned AT-AT, awesome I know.

Kira somehow comes into possession of strange object, a lightsaber. Exactly how is still unclear, some sources say an alien brings it to her and other’s say she comes across it in a severed hand. After bringing it to an old cyborg (Max Von Sydow), who is old enough to have been present during the clone wars. He recognizes it as a Jedi’s signature weapon and sends them both to some old friends who might be able to help. Rumors are divisive at best as to the cyborg’s allegiances. It is unclear so far what side he fought on and what his intentions are now. Regardless, his actions will most likely somehow point Kira and Trooper towards Han Solo.

Enter Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) who might be a little worse for wear. Rumors about these two state that they no longer own the Millenium Falcon which Oscar Isaac now has. No worries though, we know from leaked set photos that the Millenium Falcon will make an appearance. Han either recognizes it as Luke’s old lightsaber or knows that Luke is the only one that can shed some light. Regardless, this encourages the group to seek out Luke.Read More »Star Wars Episode VII Rumor Roundup

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap and Preview

s2e7-aos

This week, we got a lot of answers about Project TAHITI. Coulson goes back under Raina’s memory machine in order to find the answers so the team can stop a man who is killing those who are infected with the GH serum. He and his victims were test subjects in Project TAHITI but, though they seemed to be healing well with the serum, they quickly degenerated and became obsessed with the writings. Like a homing pigeon, they sought every means they could to find the meaning of the writings, which, for our villain of the week, meant killing.

Coulson and his team track him down and stop him, but in the process, Coulson realizes that the writings aren’t a map. They are blueprints for a city. Before we talk about the theories as to what the city could be, let’s talk about the other half of our team as they pursue Ward. I enjoyed seeing Ward in action again. We were definitely reminded why he was such a good agent as he stayed ahead of May and her team the whole time, even being able to figure out that Bobbi and Hunter were working with Coulson. I also liked seeing Tripp back in action. Having the weapons specialist that we grew to like last season stuck in the Playground while the big-mouthed newbie gets the action every episode is a little disappointing.

I am very interested in seeing how Ward’s story arc plays out.Read More »Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap and Preview
