A new images was released from Disney Animation’s next feature film. In it, 8-bit Ralph, is inside a game called Hero’s Duty, instead of his own game – “Wreck-It Ralph”. On a quest to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero, 8-bit Ralph joins the ranks of a modern, first-person shooter game and hilarity ensures.
There have been a few more test screenings and an extended clip was shown at Comic-Con. That means we’re starting to hear early feedback on the film.
Most remark how they like seeing all the cameos from classic video games and how seeing characters everyone knows lends to the verisimilitude of the film since you’re not seeing a bunch of video game characters that Disney created out of whole cloth (although there are those too).
Another word is being used a lot in association with Wreck-It Ralph. That word is ‘Heart’, as in the film has lots of it. The heart of the film comes from great story and character work. A few have even said this is the most Pixar of Disney films yet. That seems like a good sign to me
Wreck-It Ralph will pop into in theaters on Nov. 2, 2012, in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
