This is me and my boys. I’m looking at the construction being done on the Carthay Circle Theatre in Disney’s California Adventure. My kids are just looking at a wall they can’t see over. Score one for tall (and old).
We recently (as in a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t have time to post what with the trip to PIXAR and all that, oh, did I mention the trip to PIXAR?) took a weekend visit to the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland updates are here), and while we were there we took a peek at some of the upcoming changes to DCA. You know what I’m talking about:
Boom, baby! We’ve got us a Cars Land, people cars.
The new land is coming in quite nicely. The street lights are great and I’m really happy that Disney added some grown shade trees as Radiator Springs tends to run hot in the summer.
You can see a bit of the wall that surrounds Cars Land. You can walk all around it but you have to turn right to turn left. That’s right, folks, Cars humor.
These photos were taken from the patio of Blue Sky Cellar which houses all of the plans for an updated DCA. I’m kind of curious what will become of Blue Sky Cellar once all the new stuff is up and running.
Here are some of the things you’ll find inside Blue Sky Cellar:
The coffee cup was a prop, but I wonder if it is a hint of the new products we will find once the new DCA areas are open. Also, what are the odds of a Roger Rabbit tie-in with the Red Car Trolley?
And in case you were wondering what I saw over the wall way back in the first picture, it was this:
Nice place for a movie, don’t you think?
