For the last few years Disney’s Animal Kingdom has slowly making changes to its signature Kilimanjaro Safari attraction. They added more rows to the trucks, changed the spiel slightly, allowed trucks to briefly stop when good photos opportunities present themselves, and made some significant improvements to the savannahs. Turns out they’re not done yet.
Beginning this spring, Kilimanjaro Safaris will undergo some more changes with the aim to give guests the opportunity to see more of their favorite animals, specifically zebras, during ride. Where the audio-animatronics “Little Red” elephant and related set pieces are now, will be replaced with a new savannah space, including a watering hole for live animals.
And I thought they were going to announce the addition of a new Yeti to the savannahs.
Kilimanjaro Safaris will remain operational through the enhancement, scheduled to be completed by fall 2012.
Sounds great to me. I thought the Little Red story line was distracting from the fun of the ride. Not a big deal, but not sorry to see it go.

Good. I was getting sick of that story line from doing the safari so many times to get good pictures of all the animals. Bring on the Zebras. And a Yeti would also be appreciated.
Getting rid of that horrible storyline is proof that God exists.
Yeah I always thought that the animatronic elephant was a little over the top.
